Our mission is to undertake basic and translational research relevant to the understanding of obesity, cardiovascular disease and related metabolic disorders, kidney diseases and cancer.
The Wallenberg Laboratory for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Research is located within the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden, and hosts 15 research groups (around 130 researchers and other staff) with a wide range of skills and expertise.
Our investigators have a unique breadth of competence, ranging from molecular cell biology, microbiology, lipidomics, mouse genetics and gnotobiotics to clinical studies and epidemiology. The laboratory is viewed as a model for successful translational research, and encourages collaborations with national and international researchers and the pharmaceutical industry.
